Racists disapointed by justice

Yesterday the racially-motivated case against George Zimmerman culminated in acquittal on all charges. Many were convinced that Zimmerman was guilty of murder because Zimmerman is white and his attacker was of a different race. The prosecution was unable to convince the jury that Zimmerman is a racist and that he shot Trayvon Martin to death because he was a black man.

In the wake of such a catastrophic waste of taxpayer money, many are still convinced that George Zimmerman should still be punished for defending his own life. The reason behind this desire is a vague notion that every unsatisfactory encounter between people of different races is the result of racism. This self-serving view of the world is the hallmark of racists.

Racism validated

It requires no evidence of racism other than the color of a person's skin. Racists use these unjustified claims of racism in others to justify and validate their own racism.

Call for unwarranted justice

Times Square was clogged with people who wanted "Justice for Trayvon". It is unclear what justice is required for somebody who is shot while attempting to murder a man, but the vague nature of this unnamed justice doesn't stop racists from demanding it. Where the justice is to come from is also unclear now that Zimmerman was acquitted of murder and of the lesser charge of manslaughter.

Race enters into it

The prosecution's star witness dropped a bombshell while testifying against Zimmerman. According to Rachel Jeantel, Trayvon Martin took offense to being observed by a "creepy ass cracker". The word "cracker" is a racially-charged slang term for a Caucasian person. While it may never be known why Martin attacked Zimmerman and tried to murder him, the defense made a strong case that it was because Zimmerman is white.

The testimony by Rachel Jeantel makes it seem that an equally plausible explanation for the attack was that Martin took offense to being observed. It is unclear why Martin would want to be unobserved.

Racism defeated in court . . . for now

Eager to promote his agenda of perpetual hate-fueled racism, Al Sharpton has proclaimed that he will approach the Justice Department to prosecute George Zimmerman for civil rights charges. Sharpton's logic seems flawed in that he appears to believe self-defense is a civil rights violation. The result of Zimmerman's second-degree murder trial makes it clear that self-defense is not murder or even manslaughter.

A pattern of flawed logic

Flawed logic seems to be a pattern for Sharpton. In April of last year he proclaimed then that Trayvon Martin "did nothing criminal" when he attempted to murder George Zimmerman.

In an effort to bolster his claim that Zimmerman murdered Martin because he was black, Sharpton leaves out of his rhetoric the fact that Zimmerman was forced to shoot Martin in self-defense. He goes on again to further imply that Zimmerman murdered Martin and then lied about it by referring to Zimmerman's gun as "the murder weapon" and even claims that Zimmerman still has it. The Sanford police department did not allow Zimmerman to take his gun home.

The fight against racism going forward

Nobody thinks it is okay to ignore racism, but ignoring racists is perfectly okay. Do your part to defeat racism in America by simply ignoring the next person who says that Zimmerman is guilty because he is white and Trayvon Martin is black.
